Create Secured Password using Simple Logic

10 November 2009 One Comment

Internet Security is an increasing problem for companies and for individuals. There are lot of identity theft and  data theft complaint has been registered with cyber crimes cells. We all aware that internet media attracting a huge community into it. As users increase, security issues also keep increasing. Any company or individual  has a strong interest in protecting their trade secrets and data. Here I want to talk about securing your system and internet transactions with passwords.

Make sure to remember the following four rules:

1. Don’t use easy-to-guess passwords.

2. Don’t write down your password in an insecure location or store it in an insecure computer file.

3. Don’t share passwords with co-workers.

4. Don’t use the same password for different accounts.

How to create a strong password, you can use one of these four methods:

First Method:-

Pick a word or phrase that you can remember easily,  but substitute letters with symbols or numbers (such as @ for a, i for 1, 8 for B, $ for S, E for 3 etc. Using this method, “admin” might become “@9m1n”.

Second Method:-

Pick a minimum 6 letter word and use upper and lower-case letters separate with special character . Suppose if you picked “computer”  as word, using this method “computer” will become “computer@COMPUTER”.

Third Method:-

Use an “upper left” or “lower right” substitution. This is where you replace a keystroke with the key next to it. Thus, “iloveyou” might become “8i9f397” by replacing each letter with the letter to the upper left of it on the keyboard.

VERY SECURED METHOD:-

it’s strongly recommend to change your password every month even if you are used very complex logic to your password.
